From WFPL's Haley HartLouisville’s Center for Women and Families says it is in need of gift card donations for its residents and clients. The cards allow the survivors of domestic violence to safely shop for their families online or with a support group on designated shopping days.Center President Denise Troutman says they’re hoping for at least 1,000 gift cards this year.“You know the need’s just been greater than ever. With this economy people are losing their jobs, their losing their houses—it just exacerbates domestic violence. And here at the center we’ve just seen more clients than we ever have in the past.”Gift cards can be mailed or dropped off at the center 24 hours a day, throughout the holiday season.More information can be found here.
