God and David Adams Called Harmon to Run

While considering a bid for higher office, state Rep. Mike Harmon, R-Danville, said he asked God for a sign. The almighty sent him a political consultant, namely Tea Party guru David Adams, who recruited Harmon to join a slate with Louisville businessman Phil Moffett for the state's number two spot. From the LexingtonHerald-Leader:"I felt God tugging on my heart to run for a higher office," Harmon, a 44-year-old Danville Republican, said in a recent interview.

"I laid out some options, I thought about it, but I couldn't get a clear direction," he said. "Finally, I said, 'God, if this is what you want for me, you need to give me a clear direction.' Then, a week later, David Adams called me and asked, 'Mike, do you want to run for lieutenant governor?'"

Obviously, this isn't the first time a politician has used their faith to claim that the Lord wants them to run for a seat or win an election.  But it begs two questions of biblical implication: is Adams a harbinger of God and, does God support the Moffett-Harmon ticket?
