Gov. Beshear Endorses Obama

From Kentucky Public Radio's Tony McVeigh.Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, who is a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention, is endorsing Barack Obama for President.New York Senator Hillary Clinton easily carried Kentucky in the May presidential primary and her campaign actively courted Governor Beshear for his endorsement. So did Illinois Senator Barack Obama, but Obama has now clinched the Democratic nomination and Clinton is preparing to withdraw from the race.Governor Beshear says Clinton realizes, “as we do, that it is time for Democrats to come together to win back the presidency this fall.”Beshear says he will be casting his vote for Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. So will state Democratic Party Chair Jennifer Moore and Vice Chair Nathan Smith.All three are Democratic superdelegates. Beshear says he also has written Obama and Clinton, urging Obama to make Clinton his running mate.
