Grant Renewed For Cancer Center

A 2003 grant to the University of Louisville’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center has been renewed. The initial grant gave the institution $11 million to fund a research center. The renewal will give the center an additional $10.1 million.Center Director Dr. Donald Miller says the funds will pay for new researchers and help make the center more efficient.“One or two or three new drugs a year will come out of this program into clinical trials right here and so we’re very, very excited about the future," says Miller. The grant comes from the National Institutes of Health. It will be awarded in about two months.
