Greater Clark Schools Names CFO Following Galovic's Announced Release

Indiana’s Greater Clark County Schools has named Dr. Frank Collesano as the interim Chief Financial Officer following the board’s decision Tuesday night to release the district's current CFO, Tom Galovic. The board voted 5-2 to uphold Superintendent Stephen Daeschner’s recommendation to fire Galovic following results of an undisclosed investigation earlier this year.“We did an investigation, it was a superintendent’s recommendation and basically the board upheld our recommendation," Daeschner told WFPL.Collesano will now work part-time as the new CFO through July 1st, said Daeschner. He isn't new to the position. In 2009, Collesano followed Daeschner from Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville to be the acting CFO for Greater Clark County Schools. He later retired in 2010.Daeschner said Collesano will be called on to help balance the budget, again, and will help make sure the district’s spending within its means.“We’re reviewing our budget revenue, we’re reviewing our budget expenditures and I’m putting that together right now to give to the board on April 17th," said Daeschner.Indiana provides funding on a calendar year and since the district works on a fiscal year, the budget must be revisited and balanced accordingly.
