Grimes Wins Democratic Primary For Secretary of State

Alison Lundergan Grimes has declared victory in the Democratic primary for Secretary of State.As supporters gathered at the Carrick House in Lexington, Grimes's sister took the podium and announced the lopsided results for several counties to much applause.Former Governor Martha Lane Collins spoke first, declaring the victory an advancement for women in leadership and expressing hope for a return to the "good old days" of the Democratic party.After a video wrapped up the spring primary campaign, congressman Ben chandler took the podium to declare the beginning of a budding career of a star from central Kentucky.  He said it was a "big night for Kentucky" and announced that the AP had declared Grimes the winner.
