Heat Advisory In Effect Through Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Kentucky for today and this latest heat wave could make July one of the five hottest on record.Temperatures this weekend will reach the upper nineties. But National Weather Service meteorologist Don Kirkpatrick says excessive humidity also contributed to the advisory declaration."The fact that we've had bouts of rain over the past couple of months have added to the moisture that's on the ground and also in the air, so that's one reason why the dew points are as high as they are and that adds to the heat index."The heat index on Saturday is expected to reach 105. Thunderstorms are in the forecast for Sunday, and will likely bring cooler temperatures next week.
