Heiner Unveils Plan for Job, Economic Growth

Republican Hal Heiner released today his plan for creating jobs and economic development in Louisville. He’s among three Republicans pursuing the nomination in the Louisville mayor’s race.He says Louisvillians have complained for years that the General Assembly treats the city unfairly in the budget process.“What we need to do is build a statewide urban coalition with the other urban areas in the state – the Ashlands, Bowling Greens, Paducahs, northern Kentucky, Lexington – to convince the General Assembly it’s time to invest in urban infrastructure and education if they want to grow jobs in Kentucky," says Heiner.Other points in his plan include creating a ‘closing fund’ for the city to finalize deals to bring businesses to Louisville and creating a task force to write a new jobs strategy for the city.
