Snow accumulation of up to two inches is forecast for Wednesday in Louisville, according to the National Weather Service.

Snowfall of this magnitude possibly means a few things for the city — grocery store mayhem, slow traffic and maybe even school closings. (We won’t know about the last one until tonight or early Wednesday morning.)

It also means residents young and old will take to the slopes at city parks to sled their way to a wintry bliss.

But before you layer-up and head out the door, Louisville Metro Parks have some tips to ensure the wintry escapades are enjoyable.

First, they recommend that people only sled if grass blades are completely covered by snow. Also, they encourage sledders to only sled on hills deemed open for sledding. Here’s a list of those hills.

All of the above hills will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. for sledding, according to Metro Parks.

Booze and bonfires are not permitted.
