Holocaust Exhibit Coming To U of L

A traveling exhibit from the U.S. Holocaust Museumwill make a stop at the University of Louisville later this month. It focuses on the persecution of homosexuals during the Nazi regime, something that university LGBT services director Brian Buford says is often overlooked. We felt like it’s a piece of history that a lot of folks don’t know. And even people in my community, LGBT community, don’t know that they, too were targeted and often ended up in concentration camps in some of the same ways other communities were," he said. The free exhibit of photographs and documents will be on display at the Ekstrom Library from September 21 through November 28. There will also be lectures and a reading from “Bent,” a play about the LGBT experience in Nazi Germany.
