Holsclaw Still Considering Gubernatorial Bid

Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw says she will decide soon whether to run for governor.Holsclaw has been mulling a bid for some time. She says she would stand a good chance in the GOP primary against both businessman Phil Moffett and Senate President David Williams, and she hasn't given much thought to the general election."I haven't even gotten into the race yet, and I would have to come out of the primary before I would have to think about the current governor and Jerry Abramson," she says.Governor Steve Beshear and Abramson are currently the only Democratic ticket in the race.Holsclaw has until the 25th to enter the race. She told reporters last week she was looking for a running mate. She says that search continues. Holsclaw is hoping to avoid tapping someone too partisan, but she says various lawmakers and business leaders are all on her short list."I would certainly welcome someone from Louisville, but I think, me being from Jefferson County, I would rather see someone from out in the state so they can represent another part of Kentucky," she says. "If I become governor, I become governor of the entire state and everybody's views are important."
