Holsclaw To Run For Governor

Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw says she'll seek the Republican nomination for governor.Holsclaw told the Associated Press that her running mate will be Bill Vermillion, a retired Navy Master Chief from Caneyville, in Grayson County. Holsclaw, who's been county clerk since 1999, says she'll file her candidacy papers on Tuesday.Two other Republican slates are already in the race, led by Senate President David Williams and Louisville businessman Phil Moffett. Governor Steve Beshear, a Democrat, is seeking re-election; Otis "Bullman" Hensley is also running for the Democratic nomination. Lexington attorney Gatewood Galbraith is running for governor as an independent.The deadline to file as a candidate in the May primary is Tuesday at 4:00pm.
