With just over a week left in the Humana Festival of New American Plays, WFPL’s Erin Keane is still interviewing playwrights and giving us her take on the new work premiering at Actors Theatre. She joined us on Friday’s State of the News to review Lucas Hnath’s “Death Tax,” a psychological thriller about end-of-life issues (left).

We also talked about her interview with Greg Kotis, who wrote the musical “Urinetown.” His play, “Michael Von Siebenburg Melts Through the Floorboards” was part of this year’s Humana Festival. It explores the concepts of consumption and over-consumption—a recurring theme in Kotis’ work—through the story of an immortal being who has to drain other people’s power to survive.
