Indiana House Committee Hearings Resuming Without Democrats

The Indiana House of Representatives will resume committee hearings tomorrow Tuesday. But won’t be any action taken because of the ongoing boycott by House Democrats. The boycott has entered its fifth week with no resolution in sight. Democrats remain holed up in an Urbana, Illinois hotel, holding out for Republican concessions on a bill dealing with labor unions and government construction projects. House majority Republicans say they’ve compromised enough on other measures and are through negotiating.House Speaker Brian Bosma (pictured) says committees can go ahead and hear public testimony without the presence of Democrats. "There will not be official action taken at these committee hearings but bills will be heard, the public will be heard, potentital amendments will be discussed," he said. The Indiana Senate is also moving ahead with its own committee hearings on House bills stalled by the walkout.
