Indiana Offers New Options For Paperwork Renewals

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is streamlining renewal processes for vehicle registrations and drivers' licenses.Bureau Commissioner Andy Miller says Hoosiers can renew their drivers' licenses on the bureau's website starting March 1st."Assuming nothing has changed, and you don't need any testing, it'll just prompt you to confirm some information, then your drivers' license will be vetted here centrally, and printed and mailed out to you within ten business days," he says. "We're doing that with all drivers' licenses starting this year, so even if you go into a license branch, you won't walk out with your drivers' license—it'll be mailed to you. So actually the online process is very much the same."The bureau has also expanded the options for renewing vehicle registrations. Earlier this month, the state began accepting registration renewals by phone.
