Indiana Woman Sleeps In Animal Shelter

The Madison County Animal Shelter in southern Indiana has its first human resident.Shelter employee Rhonda Estes is spending thirty days with about 100 dogs and cats as part of an effort to make back money that was allegedly embezzled by the facility’s treasurer last year.Estes says she has no idea if the shelter will recover the 65 thousand dollars that was lost.“We’re asking for restitution I don’t know that we’ll ever see that money, but that’s what we’re asking the courts for," she says.Estes’ first night in the shelter was April 7th, she plans to live there until May 7th and hopes to generate ten thousand dollars of donations for her time.
