More than two-thousand athletes will participate in the 2011 Ford Ironman competition Sunday in the Louisville area.The endurance competition includes a 2.4 mile Ohio River swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run. The courses include Louisville’s Waterfront Park and Oldham and Henry counties.The competition and related events will force some road closures. A list is here.
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
