IRS Center to Hold Special Saturday Hours This Weekend

by Stephanie CrosbyLouisville’s IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center will be open for several hours this Saturday.IRS spokesperson Jodie Reynolds says they sometimes hold special weekend ‘open houses’ when there is an influx of people needing assistance outside regular working hours.“Right now, people are actually starting to receive notices, maybe they have a balance due, or while processing their return, we have some additional information we need," says Reynolds. "So people are starting to receive notices, and they’re not sure what to do or how to respond. So they can come into our offices on Saturday and get the help they need.”Reynolds says their last Saturday open house was May 15th, and about 200 offices nationwide saw 7,000 people.The Louisville office will be open nine to two on Saturday.
