State elections officials expect voter turnout on Tuesday to be well below the 50 percent mark. Those Kentuckians who cast ballots will play a role in choices that will affect the course of the state for years.
Voters take into the polling stations their own issues and concerns. The state's struggling pensions, health care, economic development — those are just a few examples.
WFPL News' Ashley Lopez and Jacob Ryan headed to polling stations downtown and in east Louisville on Tuesday to find out what specific issues are on the minds of voters as they head to the polls. Here's what they heard.

Kentuckians are voting for governor, attorney general, agriculture commissioner, auditor, secretary of state and treasurer.
Special elections are also being held in parts of the state, including two in Louisville: a district judgeship and the Metro Council District 10 seat.
