JCPS Bus Routes Still Being Revised

The Jefferson County Public Schools transportation director is anticipating some changes to school bus routes once classes begin Thursday.Rick Caple says many parents are challenging the new elementary student assignment plan and asking that their children be sent to other schools. That's causing the bus routes to be more heavily revised than in previous years."We know we're going to have some busses that are probably going to be overcrowded," We'll have some buses with too few students on them because all these changes have been happening. We'll have to adjust sometime after the first four, five days of school, but that's pretty normal. We just might have to make more adjustments this year than in years past."Caple says more parents may also be opting to drive their children to school this year, as gas prices are lower than they were at this time last year.
