JCTC Master Plan Avoids Hotel Property

by Gabe BullardNegotiations have ended between Wayside Christian Mission and the Jefferson Community and Technical College.JCTC had hoped to take ownership of the former Hotel Louisville downtown and use the property to expand the school's campus. Wayside owns the hotel and is renting rooms to shelter residents.JCTC president Dr. Tony Newberry Friday unveiled the school's 25-year master plan, which calls for expansion downtown, but sidesteps the hotel site."We've been working with Wayside in a very cordial way over a number of months and had quite a number of meetings and were trying to construct a framework of an agreement and it was very clear at this juncture we weren't going to come to a successful conclusion," he says.Newberry says it's possible that future JCTC officials will pursue the property at the end of the master plan.
