Jennifer Lawrence Gets Fourth Academy Award Nomination

Louisville native Jennifer Lawrence was nominated Thursday morning for the Academy Award for best actress for her performance in the dramatic comedy "Joy."

In "Joy," Lawrence plays the woman who invented the Miracle Mop.

It's her third nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. She was nominated in 2010 for her breakout role in "Winter's Bone" and won the award in 2012 for "Silver Linings Playbook." She was also nominated in 2013 for the Academy Award for supporting actress for her role in "American Hustle."

The other nominees are Cate Blanchett for "Carol," Brie Larson for "Room," Charlotte Rampling for "45 Years" and Saorise Ronan for "Brooklyn."

The Oscars will be awarded on Feb. 28.

Lawrence, 25, was born in Louisville and left as a teenager to pursue acting. She's also starred in the blockbuster "Hunger Games" sereies.
