Jim Gray Inauguration Set For January 2

By Alan Lytle, Kentucky Public Radio Plans have been announced for the inauguration of Lexington Mayor-elect Jim Gray, vice mayor Linda Gorton, and the incoming Urban County Council.Spokesperson Linda Breathitt says the public is invited to witness a new era in city government on Sunday, January 2nd. "It’s in the Bluegrass Ballroom of the Lexington Convention Center…Judge Mary Noble who is a Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court, is going to administer the oath for all of the elected officials on the stage," she said. Louisville's Mayor-elect, Greg Fischer, will take the oath of office on the following day, Monday, January 3rd.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
