KDP, Williams Launch War of Words

A day before the May 17 primary, the Kentucky Democratic Party and Republican gubernatorial candidate David Williams are trading barbs in a likely preview of the general election.Williams is the favorite in the race against Louisville businessman Phil Moffett and Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw. Hoping to clip his turnout, the KDP launched a 30-second YouTube video slamming the state Senate president for refusing to release his tax returns, suggesting he has something to hide. From the KDP (h/t B&P):In previous statements, Williams's campaign manager has said those finances are readily available to the public through the legislative ethics commission. Not to be outdone, Williams criticized Democratic Party leadership Monday morning for being the "party of Aqua Buddha", referencing a deity that a confidential source told GQ magazine she was forced to worship during a hazing by now-U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., during college. The incident was used in a commercial by Paul's opponent, Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway, who was roundly criticized by Democrats and Republicans for the attack ad.Standing with Louisville Metro Councilman Jerry Miller, R-19, the so-called "Bully from Burkesville" said Democratic Party Chairman Daniel Logsdon “looks more like Aqua Buddha,” than anyone he knows. From cn|2 Pure Politics:
