University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino has named a third new assistant coach for the program. Kevin Keatts has been head coach for the past eight seasons at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia, where his teams have won two national prep championships and have been in the title game three other times. Keatts is the third new assistant Pitino has hired this week. His son, Richard, is returning to the staff after two years in Florida. The other vacancy will be filled by New Mexico assistant coach Wyking Jones.The openings were created by the departure of two assistants to other universities and the shifting of a third assistant to another position at U of L.
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
