Kentucky Firefighers Help Out in North Carolina

Eleven Kentucky firefighters travel tomorrow to North Carolina to help battle wildfires there. They’ll be replacing an eleven-member strike team already working in the Tar Heel State. Division of Forestry spokesperson Bernie Anderson says North Carolina officials asked for help early last month."Our strike team left the week before last and we will be replacing them, we’re sending replacement for the engine strike team, another 11 personnel, they’ll be leaving Thursday and the group of eleven that’s there, on the engine strike team, they’ll be returning home to Kentucky on Friday," says Anderson.Anderson says four additional Kentucky fire officials are in North Carolina, helping with operations management. Firefighters have been battling a 41-thousand acre fire that’s been burning since the beginning of June.
