Kentucky Public Radio Announces State Capital Bureau Chief

Kenny Colston has been named the State Capital Bureau Chief for Kentucky Public Radio. Beginning in January, Colston will investigate and report news for statewide broadcast through a consortium of seven public radio stations, including Louisville Public Media/WFPL, WEKU, WUKY, WNKU, WKMS, WMKY, WKYU.

Based at the Kentucky Public Radio Statehouse Bureau, Colston will provide Kentucky communities with daily coverage of all aspects of state government, including the Kentucky General Assembly sessions. His expertise in political and enterprise reporting as well as strengths in multimedia and social media will deepen the coverage and expand the reach of the bureau.

89.3 WFPL News Director Gabe Bullard welcomed Colston as an essential addition to the newsroom and its service to communities throughout Kentucky. "In a time when news organizations are contracting, Kentucky Public Radio is doubling-down on our dedication to hard-hitting, in-depth coverage of state government, and Kenny's knowledge of politics and of Frankfort will be a great asset to us. We're very happy to have him on board."

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Colston brings his experience as a political reporter for a statewide program on Insight Communications’ Channel 2. For more information contact WFPL News Director Gabe Bullard at gbullard@wfpl.org, or (502) 814-6500 or visit wfpl.org.
