Kentucky law enforcement will be well represented at next week’s presidential inauguration in Washington.

Forty Kentucky State Police troopers will be in the nation’s capital Tuesday to help provide
security for event.

KSP Sergeant David Jude says the troopers will be sworn in as local officers.

“That will give them full arrest powers during their time in washington. they’ll be involved in anything from trafic and crowd control to security at different events held throughout
Washington.” Jude said.

Dozens of officers from Louisville and Lexington will also be part of the inauguration security detail.
