White House Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske has wrapped a tour of Kentucky, and he says he plans to press the Governor of Florida to help fight prescription pill abuse.Many of the prescriptions abused in Kentucky originate in Florida, where they are illegally traded. Governor Rick Scott has proposed cutting a program to track prescriptions in his state.When he was in Louisville earlier this week, Kerlikowske said he disagreed with Scott's plan. Kerlikowske said he hadn't talked directly to Scott, but that his office had made it clear federal resources were available to help fight the pill trade. Thursday, he told the Associated he will encourage Scott to reconsider his decision.At least twenty people, including five doctors, were arrested in Florida this week for their involvement in the prescription drug trade.Kerlikowske's tour also included visits to law enforcement agencies, rehabilitation centers and courts.
