by Gabe BullardDemocratic Metro Councilman Jim King's campaign manager says King's third-place finish in the mayoral primary was due largely to low voter turnout.Jonathan Hurst says if more than 30% of registered voters turned up at the polls yesterday (Tuesday), King would have likely finished stronger in the primary."We knew that we had a strong number of supporters," he says. "We just needed a larger turnout tonight and the light turnout very much hurt us."Hurst says King will endorse Fischer in the general election against Republican Hal Heiner. Tandy says he will support the candidate who can best deliver on his platform from the Democratic primary.
