Latest On U of L: Pitino Supports New Sanctions, More Could Come

On Wednesday, the University of Louisville announced more self-imposed sanctions on its men’s basketball program as investigations continue into a prostitution scandal.

The Cardinals will give up two scholarships, one in 2017-18 and another the following season. There will also be limits placed on recruiting opportunities over the next two seasons.

That comes on top of February’s announcement that the men’s basketball team would not take part in post-season tournaments this year.

I spoke with WDRB sports reporter Eric Crawford about the latest sanctions and the status of the NCAA investigation of the U of L program.
