Libertarian Running For Indiana Seat In Congress Talks 'Liberty'

Russell Brooksbank For Congress Facebook page

This year’s race for Congress in Indiana’s 9th District includes a third-party candidate who says the federal government is heading down the wrong path.

Libertarian Russell Brooksbank lives in Clarksville, where he’s a diesel mechanic and chief steward in the Teamsters Union Local 89. The Army veteran has previously been a candidate for state representative and Clarksville Town Council.

Brooksbank faces Democrat Shelli Yoder and Republican Trey Hollingsworth in the November General Election. I spoke with him about his run for the U.S. House seat.

Listen to the interview in the audio player above.
On Monday, we heard from Yoder. And on Tuesday, we heard from Hollingsworth.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
