LISTEN: Top Trump Supporter In Louisville On Transition, White Nationalism

As President-elect Donald Trump assembles his cabinet, many Democrats are still trying to make sense of his election and overwhelming electoral college win. But for some Trump supporters, these are lighter days – of celebration and reflection.

Jeff Klusmeier is head of the Louisville chapter of Young Professionals for Trump and one of the president-elect’s top supporters in the city. We’ve been talking with him over the past several months to get a sense of what he’s been hearing and feeling about the presidential election.

I reached Klusmeier this week in Florida, where the political consultant is taking a working vacation and trying to decompress from the election.

We talked about the transition so far, Trump’s appeal to Democrats, and how the president-elect could help push back against white nationalists who are emboldened since his election.

Listen to the story in the audio player above.
