Live Blog From Frankfort: 7:00 Hour

Democratic supporters are making their way into the Kentucky Convention Center in Frankfort, with the band “The Torque” setting a celebratory mood as counting begins in Eastern Kentucky.Attorney General Jack Conway was among the first of the Democratic candidates to arrive at the convention center. Conway says he’s confident in today’s vote, but says Democrats must wait for the final poll numbers to celebrate. He says he’s focused on being the state’s attorney general and tries not to get mixed up in Washington politics.“I think people are going to be surprised about how aggressive our legislative package will be with regards to pill mills and prescription drugs and painkiller abuse in this state and particularly the CASPER system and how we monitor the data there," he said. "And continue to go after some, not all, but a few of the for-profit colleges that seem more interested in getting their hands on federal student loan money than they are on educating people and placing them in jobs."Conway says if re-elected he’ll be chair of the Democratic Attorneys General Association next year and says this will give him a platform to stand up for issues important to Kentucky. His Republican opponent Todd P’Pool criticized Conway throughout the campaign on his lack of support to overturn President Barack Obama’s healthcare reforms.
