Louisville Area Among The Worst For Job Growth In 2010

Louisville is among the country’s worst cities when it comes to keeping jobs, according to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The city ranks ninth from the bottom in a measurement of job growth in the 372 largest metro areas. Most of the cities added jobs last year, but Louisville and the surrounding area lost 75 hundred. That follows a decade when more than 30 thousand jobs were lost.Despite that, Louisville's unemployment rate has dropped to 9.8 percent, down from more than 10 percent at the start of the year. The national unemployment rate is 9.4 percent.
