Louisville-Area Gas Prices Jump

Gas prices at many Louisville-area outlets jumped by about 30 cents per gallon early thisweek, leaving motorists wondering whether prices will continue to soar as the summerdriving season approaches.Roger Boyd at Triple A of Louisville says it appears the spike is partially the result ofa drop in gas and crude supplies and a rise in oil prices. Some stations are also switching over to a more expensive summer blend ofreformulated gasoline.20624ROGER BOYD1:10(now the real question on the minds of the motorists as well as Triple A is doesthat necessarily equate to a 30 cent overnight price increase).Boyd says the increase came on top of the usual jump in prices associatedwith Derby week in the Louisville area.He says there's nothing to indicate at this point that prices will exceed four dollarsper gallon this summer.
