Workers and volunteers in the American Red Cross River Valley Blood Services Region are mourning the sudden death of their CEO.Dr. Yenshen Hsueh died of an apparent heart attack Saturday in China, where he was vacationing with his wife.Local Red Cross spokesperson Loni White says the 59 year old native of China oversaw blood collection in a 70 county region that covers 56 hospitals, including those in the the Louisville area."Dr. Yen, as we affectionately called him, was really responsible for making sure that every patient in this region that needed blood got blood. He was the man that really made all the big decisions, and being the CEO for the past 13 years, he was a very important person," White said.Dr. Hsueh is survived by his wife and two adult children.
