Louisville native Jennifer Lawrence has been nominated for an Academy Award.

The 20 year old was nominated for her performance in “Winter’s Bone,” the story of a teenager in the Ozarks region who goes on a search for her fugitive drug-dealing father in order to save the family home.

The film received three other nominations.

Lawrence attended Kammerer Middle School, but moved to New York just prior to high school after being spotted by a talent scout.

The Oscars will be presented February 27 in Hollywood.
