Louisville Slugger Museum Gets Makeover

From WFPL's Ashley CottrellOfficials with the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory will cut the ribbon Tuesday on the newly renovated museum portion of the facility.Spokesperson Rick Redman says there are some never-before-seen exhibits and artifacts from the company’s 125 year history that will give visitors more of an interactive experience.

“We have really reached a new level that folks are going to truly thoroughly enjoy and not only learn a lot about baseball and the history of Louisville Slugger, but where our country fits into all this,” Redman said.Redman says visitors will be able to hold bats used by Hall-of-Famers such as Mickey Mantle. Other exhibits include a bat used by Babe Ruth and a Louisville Slugger used by Joe DiMaggio during his 56-game hitting streak in 1941.(Photo courtesy of www.sluggermuseum.org)

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
