Louisvillian Selected for Anti-Genocide Fellowship

Louisvillian Jan Arnow has been selected for a national fellowship from the Genocide Intervention Network in Washington, D.C.Arnow was selected for her work in Rwanda, where she developed curriculum to help children overcome tribe-based differences, and other projects.“I have been documenting the effects of war and conflict in children through their artwork and poetry and hope to establish an exhibition that will start at the UN, and then travel around the world, with a curriculum that will go with it," says Arnow. She also wants to work on obtaining a strong graphic design that would be copyright-free and therefore could be used by all organizations fighting genocide. She doesn’t know yet which of those projects will be part of the fellowship. Eighteen people from around the country are in the program.
