Low Voter Turnout Predicted For Indiana Primary

Tomorrow is primary election day across Indiana, with local municipal races on the ballot.Clark County Clerk Barbara Bratcher-Haas is expecting a low turnout, probably around 25-percent, but she's hoping it will be stronger."You can go by how many people are voting absentee or people who are coming into the election office now to vote absentee, that’s been a low turnout. So if that’s any indication, and the weather, it will certainly have something to do with the turnout on Tuesday," she said.On the ballot in Clark County are contested races for Jeffersonville mayor and for seats on the Jeffersonville City Council and Clarksville Town Council, among others. In Floyd County, three Democrats are running for mayor of New Albany.Current Mayor Doug England is running for a city council seat.
