Massie Receives Committee Assignments

Kentucky Fourth District Congressman-elect Thomas Massie has been assigned to the powerful House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.The committee is led by fellow Republican Congressman John Mica of Florida, and has jurisdiction over all modes of transportation. It also has oversees infrastructure such as clean water, the transport of natural resources by pipeline, flood damage reduction and disaster preparedness and response.Observers point out that the committee will give Massie a voice on projects such as the Brent Spence Bridge in northern Kentucky.The incoming Republican freshman also was assigned to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.Massie's district run across the Ohio Rive from Louisville's eastern suburbs to the state's border with West Virginia.
