Maze Tapped to Serve as Circuit Judge

Jefferson County Attorney Irv Maze has been appointed to a circuit judge seat by Governor Steve Beshear. The seat in Division 10 of the 30th Judicial District was left vacant when Judge Kathleen Voor Montano died earlier this year. Maze says he’s enjoyed serving as county attorney, but is ready to take on his new role."I come into this with some very mixed emotions," says Maze, "I loved being county attorney, I loved my service on fiscal court, but I also love serving the public and I think this is another chapter in the public service career I started back in 1972."Maze expects to take the bench within the next ten days. Mayor Jerry Abramson will appoint a replacement to finish Maze’s term as county attorney.
