McConnell Bargaining on Debt Ceiling

Speaking on CNN's "State of the Union," on Sunday, Senate Minority Leader MitchMcConnell, R-Ky., said the debt limit debate presents "an opportunity" to take on federal spending. Before voting to increase the government's $14.3 trillion debt ceiling, McConnell has called on Congress and President Barack Obama to institute a two-year spending cap. The plan would not include a tax increase but would deal with entitlement reform of Medicare and Social Security, he says.“Rather than thinking of this as a crisis, I think of it as an opportunity to come together an those talks are under way led by the vice president,” McConnell told CNN.Check it out:The most honest politician in Washington, indeed.
