From the Associated Press:Indiana's boycotting House Democrats are meeting in Illinois amid speculation they could be close to ending their nearly six-week-old Statehouse standoff.House Democrat spokesperson John Schorg says Minority Leader Patrick Bauer plans to talk to reporters by telephone today following the caucus.Most House Democrats fled the state February 22 to derail Republican proposals they consider an attack on labor unions and public education. Since the walkout began, Republicans have agreed to changes to several bills in an effort to appease Democrats.Bauer and Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma met at the Statehouse last week to discuss further changes to a bill regarding labor unions and government construction projects. Both characterized the meeting as positive.
