Metro Animal Services Moving Animals Back to Manslick Location

Metro Animal Services is in the process of moving animals from its temporary site at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center back to its permanent location on Manslick Road. This week’s flood forced the agency – and its more than 500 animals – to higher ground.Spokesperson Jackie Gulbe says they’re in the process of moving 250 dogs and 300 cats back to the agency’s main facility. She says the primary goal for staff and volunteers is to get the animal shelter cleaned up first.“And then we’re focusing on the medical area, getting our clinic up and running," says Gulbe, "and then focusing on the offices and that kind of stuff.”Gulbe says they’ve lost almost all their computers and printers, but a few are working and will be able to process intakes and adoptions starting Friday. She says 14 animals were adopted while they were located at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
