Morehead has become the sixth Kentucky city to adopt a fairness ordinance.

The Morehead City Council has approved legislation that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

Similar ordinances have been passed in Covington, Frankfort, Lexington, Louisville and the small eastern Kentucky town of Vicco.

Advocates for a statewide fairness law say as more cities pass such legislation, state lawmakers will eventually see the growing demand and act.
