Morning Event Expected to Clog I-65 Even More

The Revive-65 project is still underway in Louisville, and an event at Freedom Hall tomorrow could jam up the interstate more than usual.Heavy construction is underway along three northbound miles of I-65 between Fern Valley Road and the Watterson Expressway. About 17-thousand people are expected at a motivational event at Freedom Hall tomorrow morning featuring Rudolph Giuliani, Laura Bush, Rick Pitino and others.Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesperson Hannah Ferrell says they only way to avoid congestion is for some travelers to take another route.“We obviously tried to stay away from a lot of the bigger events in Louisville like the State Fair and some other things that are going on," says Ferrell, "but we couldn’t stay away from everything, so we’re encouraging motorists to try to carpool to anything they can or find alternative routes.”Ferrell says tomorrow construction crews there will also be switching traffic to the left lanes of the northbound side, and the Preston Highway/Grade Lane exit will be closed starting tomorrow as well.Revive 65Revive 65 on Twitter
