National Bike To Work Day is Tomorrow

Hundreds of bicyclists will be on the roadways tomorrow morning as part of National Bike to Work Day. Mayor Jerry Abramson says about 600 people will participate in the event, one-third of whom will be first-time bike commuters. He says motorists should be aware of the event.“They should expect to see those cyclists on the road, more than they have in the past, on May 15th, and hopefully they will appropriately handle themselves in terms of safety," says Abramson. To make the event less intimidating for first-time commuters, the city’s website has been connecting those cyclists with more experienced bikers in their neighborhoods, or directing them to a group meeting site at a city park.
