NCAA: Bellarmine Back in Final Four

The Bellarmine Knights are again headed to the Final Four of the men’s NCAA Division Two tournament.The defending national champions came back from a nine point halftime deficit to beat Alabama Huntsville 82-73 tonight and advance to the national semifinals at Northern Kentucky University. The number one seeded Knights will take on Montevallo of Alabama Thursday night.Starting forward Luke Sprague returned to the lineup after missing two games with a shoulder injury, but guard Keiston Jones left the game with a knee injury and is not expected to return to action Thursday.Bellarmine is trying to become the first school to win back-to-back championships since Cal State Bakersfield did it in 1993 and ’94.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
